XGRIDS PortalCam- The first spatial camera
PortalCam allows you to captures photorealistic 3D environments at walking speed, and create ready-to-share high-quality 3D content with spatial precision in minutes. Considered to be a spatial camera, it’s purpose is 3DGS only – clearly different from the K1 & L2 Pro series. It is not meant to be used for surveying, although the delivered pointcloud (metric, local system) is consistent and seems to be fine for simple applications.
The device comes with 4 cameras (12 Mpx each, 1/2 “ Sensors), two in the front and two facing left and right. The LIDAR sensor is oriented to the front and operates with 850,000points/sec with a range of up to 60m. The internal storage is 512GB, the max. scanning time is one hour. The arrangement of the different sensors is optimized for 3DGS to make sure you do not miss any detail for your project. The device works with the new Lixel Go App and Android/iOS smartphones. The processing works as with the other devices in the newest Lixel CyberColor release (1.9).
The seamless integration with Unity, Unreal Engine, and XGRIDS‘ LixelWeb Platform makes it the ultimate tool for creators at all levels, outperforming and replacing traditional 360 cameras or complex scanning tools that demand hours of post-processing. Main applications/use-cases will be in the field of content creation, AECO, VP/VFX, Education, E-Commerce and many more.
